Theme: «Choosing a career. Plans for the future»

Мета : удосконалювати володіння лексичним матеріалом за темою уроку;

розвивати діалогічне та монологічне мовлення ; навички аудіювання ;

удосконалення техніки читання, практикувати навички говоріння та письма.  

            розширювати соціокультурну компетенцію учнів , їх кругозір ,

виявляти покликання та якість особистості , необхідні для професії;

розвивати мовну догадку,  уміння логічного викладу думок, культуру спілкування у запропонованій ситуації, ерудицію учнів. Сприяти розвитку вміння визначати професійні якості особистості. Намагатись прищеплювати любов до праці, сприяти вихованню розуміння в учнів важливості і необхідності реалізації своїх умінь і здібностей через обрану професію.

Розширювати кругозір, виховувати любов до знань та бажання дізнаватися більше нового, допомогати  зрозуміти важливість кожної професії ; виховувати інтерес до культури англійського народу.

Обладнання :підручник ,ноутбук, аудіокасета з текстом,наглядний матеріал, роздатковий  матеріал.

Хід уроку

І . Початок  уроку 

  1. Організаційний момент. Вступне слово вчителя.
Good morning, pupils and guests. I am glad to see you. Today we have an unusual lesson.

2.Повідомлення теми та мети уроку

T:I'd like to start our lesson with this saying :”If you do not think  about the future, you will  not have one”( John Galsworthy ) It will be a kind of a motto of our  today's  lesson. Let us remember the words , touching the profession and  draw a Mind Map. Now …come up to the blackboard and write all the professions you know and other pupils write the words on these sheets of paper and then we compare , maybe you  add  smth.

( Один учень виходить до дошки і записує слова по темі : «Професії» , а решта учнів записують їх на аркушах , потім зрівнюють та доповнюють )

 T: So pupils ,as you have already guessed the topic of our lesson “Choosing a profession. Plans for the future.” We shall continue to speak about jobs and professions , you will read your own opinion  about your future profession , discuss some   questions concerning  your future plans ,by the end of the lesson you should be able to operate the words for the topic , to participate in conversational exchange.

2. Уведення в  іншомовну  атмосферу

  Лексична та мовленнєва  зарядка

Teacher: So, students, now you have 1 minute for writing all the professions you know.
Write down the names of professions in your copybook and then we will see who writes a lot of words. (Потім учні по ланцюжку читають назву професій, які вони згадалита кількість слів )

Teacher: Ok, welldone. And now…
Teacher: There are a lot of classifications of professions. We'll classify them in 6 groups. Pupils listen to the definitions of each group and think over about the examples of professions:
WE MAY DIVIDE THE PROFESSIONS IN 6 GROUPS

Clerical - the jobs are done in offices and deal with people or simple office machinery.
Scientific - the jobs that need a background of interest in one sort of science.
Practical - the biggest group of all, it depends on skills other than those needed in exams.
Outdoor - these jobs are easier to find in the country than in the town.
Creative - these jobs need flair, skill and lots of luck.
Social jobs -  are ones where you help other people.

ІІ. Основна частина

   Активізація лексичного матеріалу.

   а) тренування учнів у вживанні тематичної лексики

T: Well , look at the blackboard. Complete the definition of the occupations .   

Ø An architect … (designs buildings)

Ø A school teacher …   (teaches children)

Ø A vet …(treats animals)

Ø A surgeon … (does operations )

Ø A baker … (bakes bread ,cakes )

Ø A dress-maker … (sews clothes )

Ø A driver … (drives a car )

Ø A forester … (looks after the animals, feeds them )

б)  Ігра  «Виправ мене»  Game “ Correct me “

 T: Well done . Now let us play a bit the game “Correct me “ I say the false sentences and you will correct them.                                                                                                                                  

For example : I say : “Bankers work  in the hospital”. You say : “No ,they do not. They work at the bank .

·        Doctors work in a hotel (hospital)

·        Teachers work in an airport (at school)

·        Waiters work in a dentists' (café, restaurant)

·        Flight attendants work at an office (airplane, helicopter)

·        Sellers work on the farm  (at the supermarket, market)

·        Farmers work in a restaurant  (in the field, in the farm)

And where do the teacher work ? ( at school)

T: That will do Thank you children.

2.Розвиток  умінь монологічного та діалогічного мовлення

Game "Guess the job"

T: Now it’s time for a guessing-game “What profession is it?” I’ll describe you a profession and you will give me the word. Here are some professions:

·         journalist,

·         bricklayer,

·         architect,

·         fashion designer,

·         conductor,

·         manager,

·         accountant,

·         sports instructor,

·         cashier,

·         programmer,

·         decorator,

·         car mechanics,

·         physicist,

·         interpreter,

·         pharmacist.

(The words are written on the board.)

·     Listen to the definition of professions, try to guess and game them. 

1.     Some who can count well and keeps the money records of a business.

2.     Someone who makes walls with bricks.

3.     Someone who designs clothes.

4.     Someone who writes computer programs.

5.     Someone who gets cash or pays out money in a shop.

6.     Someone who repairs cars.

7.     Someone who works at the reception desk of a hotel.

8.     Someone whose job is to design buildings.

9.     Someone whose job is to manage a company.

10.        Someone who studies or works in physics.

T: Now, I’ll give you out these pieces of paper. Doing these tasks you’ll get to know a bit more about your future professions.

I think you know the Ukrainian  and English provebs are statements about professions and works. Match them. "The early bird gets the worm" "God helps those, who help themselves" "Live and Learn" "It takes the character, the never - say - quit spirit to succeed in business"
